11 pass scrutiny

All the 11 candidates who filed necessary nomination papers for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency have been approved following the necessary scrutiny which was held at Imphal West DC/DEO office, Lamphel, today.
The 11 candidates include O Nabakishore (INC), M Nara (CPI), Dr RK Ranjan (BJP), RK Anand (NEIDP), O Jugindro (MPP), Dr G Tonsana Sharma (MDPF), S Nandeshwore (RJSP) and Md Illiyash Khan (Independent), M Totomsana Nongshaba (Independent), Rajkumar Somorendro Singh (Kaiku) (Independent) and Wahengbam Pobitra Singh (Independent).
For the Congress party, the names of the 40 star campaigners submitted to the ECI for the coming Lok Sabha election also include party president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while for the JD (U), one of its 20 star campaigners is Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
On the other hand, it is reported that polling station 10 and 12 (Phaibok Munlen and Phaibok Munte) of Tipaimukh A/C have the lowest number of voters (with 52 voters each).
Polling station Kwakta 1 (A), of Moirang A//C has managed to secure the top spot with a total of 1301 voters as the polling station with the highest number of voters.
