DSO flays ex MLA Joykishan

RK Binoy, district supply officer Imphal West has charged that the nominee for rice distribution of Thangmeiband Assembly constituency had not distributed rice allocated for the month of June even though the July month is going to be over.
He further said that the allocation for the month of June under targeted public distribution system was released on May 27 .
He also charged Joykishan ex MLA of Thangmeiband Assembly constituency with disgorging the rice meant for the month of July without the permission of the officials.
The district supply officer also said that they kept hold of the allocated rice for the month of July at the dumping site as they suspected the nominee of not distributing the rice to the beneficiaries for the month of June.
Binoy also informed that the misdeed of the ex MLA was reported to the officer in charge of Imphal Police Station in writing by one of his colleagues and claimed that the rice meant for the beneficiaries for the month of June for Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency should not go in waste.
He also alleged that while his departmental team went to meet the ex MLA to stop his action with explanations but he was stopped by the crowd surrounding the place.
He also said that the department received a complaint from the beneficiaries for not receiving the allocated rice for the month of June.
The DSO also said that altogether 1221.14 quintal of rice is distributed on a monthly basis to the beneficiaries under different categories at Thangmeiband Assembly constituency.
He further said that for APL category 195.11 quintal of rice, BPL � 469.08 quintal, AAY � 306.95 quintal, and additional APL � 250 quintal of rice are distributed regularly.
The DSO also disclosed that for the month of July 562.48 quintals of rice were kept at THYO club Lourung Purel Leikai, Thangmeiband and 658.65 quintals of rice in a private godown of transport contractor near St Joseph School, Sangaiprou.
It was informed that that there is no deposit of money by rice agent to the department under targeted public distribution system.
Claiming the misuse of power by ex MLA Joykishan against the distribution of PDS item for the public, the district supply officer said that such act is not welcome and hampers the efficient functioning of distribution under TPDS.
