Whereas four girl students who have been on hunger strike inside MU campus have been taken to JNIMS as their health condition deteriorated, five members of the students' organisations which called a 48 hour general strike from September 26 midnight have been pulled up by police.
Police have pulled up five members of the students' organisations which have called the general strike on September 27 and 28.On the other hand students staying in MU girls' hostels launched hunger strike at the gates of their respective hostels yesterday demanding unconditional release of arrested students and teachers and restoration of normalcy in the university.
The student activists were apprehended as they came out of Oriental College after holding a joint meeting of student organisations and CSOs this evening.
The arrested student activists are AMSU president Manjit Sarangthem, general secretary Soibam Anil, DESAM vice-president N Edison, finance secretary Romesh and foreign affairs secretary Roshan.
