Imphal, May 25 2014:
'Kangla Lanpung' volume-VIII (Issue-I) published by RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust was released at a function held at Dave Literature Centre, DM College Complex here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr..PMilan Khangamcha, Associate Professor of Philosophy Department, Manipur University stated that as Manipur is an industrially poor state, the probable impacts of the Look East Policy on the state need prior discussion.
Dr..PMilan, whose article titled 'Globalisation and Education of Manipur -in the context of Look East Policy: Policies & their actions' appears in the Kangla Lanpung edition, further asserted that amidst the much-hyped Vision 2020, the north eastern states have remained lagging behind their counterparts, while adding that we need prior discussion on the various aspects of Look East Policy.
Sharing the dais of the function, Dr..HDijeshekhar Sharma, retired Principal of DM College said that there is ardent need to discuss the likely-benefits to be generated by either the Trans-Asian Highway or the Look East Policy on the people of Manipur.
'The state may get just a few benefits for providing hotel accommodations to the outside visitors, which may even be missed, if they go ahead without halting here', Dijeshekhar added while pointing out that the people of Manipur need to imitate the hard-working nature of Asian countries like Japan.
Pointing out that the current edition of Kangla Lanpung includes articles on issues like Look East Policy, Border Fencing and Family Planning, Chairman of RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust Dr.RK Nimai stated that ensuing editions of the journal will cover issues valuable to the people of the state.
