2-days orientation programme on self help group formation begin

A 2-day Orientation Programme on Self Help Group Formation and Linkages with Banks began today at Lamshang Community Hall, Lamshang.
The Orientation programme is being organised by the KVK Imphal West, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal, in association with NABARD, Manipur Region, National Co-operative Union of India (Women Wing), Manipur State Co-operative Bank Limited, Imphal.
Altogether 40 Self Help Groups (SHGs) formed under Taothong Multipurpose Development Farmers' club are taking part in the programme.
Speaking at the inaugural function as Chief Guest, Shri S.Rajen Singh, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Manipur, said that those who know how to go along with the Banks will only prosper in the long run.
Bank will come to ones' doorstep when one follows the rules and regulations of the Bank properly.
Organising such training programme will be of great help to the women of the different SHGs in managing and maintaining their economic activities.
Womenfolk in their leisure time can work to earn income through formation of SHGs and help the family as a family can only be self sustained and live peacefully when both men and women worked together, he added.
He also appealed to all the participants to form SHGs to generate income for overall development and not just for namesake.
SHGs should take opportunity to get the benefits given by the Banks.
