Governor Dr Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Lok Sabha MP Dr Ranjan Singh and other Ministers have conveyed greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the occasion of Idul-Fitr.
Greeting the people, Dr Najma Heptulla said that this holy festival which was preceded by "Ramadan", a month long fasting period, not only spreads the message of peace, brotherhood and universal love but also entreats mankind to perform deeds of positive value to enhance the soul.
The message associated with this festival is most relevant in the present tumultuous world, the Governor said while appealing all to remember that human beings inhabit only one planet and the whole world is but a single family and any strife needs to be settled through peaceful means.
Chief Minister N Biren has also greeted the people of Manipur on the arrival of the festival.
The Chief Minister said that this festival reminds all that humanity can be improved by being sensitive to others' sentiments while being honest.
He also appealed all to maintain social distancing in the face of COVID-19 pandemic.
Member of Parliament Dr RK Ranjan, Speaker Y Khemchand Singh, Works Minister Th Biswajit, Dy Speaker K Robindro have also extended Id-Ul-Fitr greetings.
Ex-MP and president BJP Manipur Pradesh K Bhabananda also conveyed warm greetings to the people of Manipur, particularly the Meitei Pangal brethren.
