State logs two deaths, 194 new cases

Imphal, September 23 2021:
The state on Thursday reported two fatalities and 194 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3428 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 5.66 per cent against Wednesday's 4.83 per cent.
The active caseload rose to 2270 out of which 439 (19.34 per cent) are in home isolation, 771 (33.96 per cent) in CHICs, 676 (29.78 per cent) in CCCs and 384 (16.92 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 77 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 114 are on oxygen support and 25 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 160 patients.
On the other hand, there are five patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Thursday evening, 540 beds including 104 ICU/ HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Wednesday evening 2797 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 391 beds (24 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 89,835 positive cases and 1464 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 5302 new cases and 56 fatalities out of which 1322 new cases and 17 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official bulletins, the 194 new positive cases included 193 people (102 male & 91 female) from among the general population and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), whose samples were detected at RIMS (9), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (176).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (31), Imphal West (109), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (5), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (8), Chandel (6), Senapati (1), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (1).The two fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West (1) and Bishnupur (1).One of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1838.In the last 24 hours, 136 patients were discharged from home isolation (31), RIMS (3), JNIMS (9), CCCs (83) and CHICs (10).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,19,235 (general population - 1,14,967 and CAPF personnel - 4,268).Number of recovered cases is 1,15,127 (general population - 1,10,928 and CAPF personnel - 4,199) and number of active cases is 2,270 (general population - 2,206 and CAPF personnel - 64).The recovery rate is 96.55 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1068 D-type and 281 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Wednesday, 6658 vaccine doses were administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,16,639 which included 4,29,008 fully vaccinated individuals.
As of Wednesday, 1,01,996 eligible individuals are yet to get the second dose of Covid vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (40,837), Imphal East (26,383), Thoubal (9298), Churachandpur (9987), Kangpokpi (2738), Tamenglong (3253), Bishnupur (8964), Senapati (2181), Ukhrul (2654), Kakching (6319), Chandel (2259), Noney (1059), Tengnoupal (1031), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (824) and Pherzawl (433) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (612), Imphal East (432), Thoubal (168), Churachandpur (156), Kangpokpi (58), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (186), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (32), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,426 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,049 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,13,135 tests per million population against the national average of 3,99,803 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3428 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.66 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.30 per cent.
