MU cultural team felicitated

A reception ceremony for the Manipur University cultural team that participated in the 33rd Inter-University National Youth Festival, 2017-18 at Ranchi University was held today in the Court hall of Manipur University.
The cultural team won many medals and prizes in different categories.
The five-day National youth festival was held from February 16 to 20.The cultural team from the university stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in seven different categories - 1st position in western vocal (solo) and collage, 2nd position in folk/tribal dance, western group song and cartooning and 3rd position in classical dance and cultural procession.
Professor Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, MU graced the function as chief guest.

Congratulating the participants, Professor Pandey said, "It is a moment of pride for the university to welcome and felicitate the winners of the cultural team.
Despite limited facilities in the university, my students have brought a number of prizes and medals in the Inter-University National Youth Festival competition" .
He emphasised the role of the younger generation and assured to provide any further requirements, if need arises, by the university to do better in future.
Speaking at the occasion, Professor Rajmuhon Singh said, "Manipuri people excel not only in sports and culrural activities but also in academic field" .
Professor Sumitra Phanjoubam congratulated the team and extended her warm welcome to the winning team.
Extending heartfelt congratulations to the winning students, Professor Arun Kumar suggested that students should always have competitive edge and must come out of their comfort zones.
