Advancement of society depends on human resource development, says Deputy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh has said that development of a society depends on development of human resource.
Among the resources which are the parameters of development, human resource is one of the most important one, he said at the Silver Jubilee Celebration of RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya held at Haotal, Pangei in Imphal East today.
Emphasising the need to impart quality education to the students, the Deputy CM said that education is not all about the academic achievements but also about building character and personality.
Building character and personality development require inculcating extra co-curricular activities in school life.
Students should be encouraged and taught about sports and culture which will instill good moral discipline to the students, he said.
Appreciating the efforts made by RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya in imparting quality education to the girls, the Deputy Chief Minister said, "For the last many years this institution has been contributing a lot in human resource development in the State".
Expressing concern over the increasing culture of private tuition in the State, Joykumar urged teachers to employ right tools when teaching the students at school and give them ample time to digest the things they learnt during class.
They should be given enough time to digest and enjoying their studies, he said.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chairperson of RK Sanatombi Devi Educational Institutions T Asha Devi said an honest and strong partnership with a holistic approach between teachers, students and parents will lead to develop human resource in the State.
It is in this direction that the group has been working for the last many years and will continue in future too, she said.
Deputy Chief Minister also opened an Art & Craft Exhibition at the school campus.
Teachers and contributors who are associated with the Vidyalaya were also honoured during the celebration.
