Imphal, May 18 2013 :
As a part of the nation-wide protest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against UPA Government for its alleged indulgence in corruption, volunteers of BJP Manipur Unit are all set to join the "Jail Bharo" protest in the State from May 27 to June 2 .
Addressing media persons at the State BJP unit office at Nityaipat Chuthek here today, Spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh Sumatibala Ningthoujam said that the protest would be held all over the State against the corrupt rule of UPA Government.
National leaders of the party would also join the protest in the State, she noted.
Another Spokesperson of the Party Y Nilamani lashed out at the State Congress Government and alleged that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh is the mastermind of several scams in the State.
Demanding the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into the scams, Nilamani further said that if the report of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi reprimanding his Council of Ministers for misappropriation of State fund during the recent Cabinet meeting was true, then those Ministers should be sacked and a CBI probe should be initiated to book the corrupt leaders.
Nilamani decried that the State Congress government has done nothing for the development of the State.
The so-called landmark buildings of the State namely City Convention Centre, Inter-State Bus Terminus and 50-bedded Senapati District Hospital are still of no use to the public despite being inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh many months back, he averred.
The Spokesperson also highlighted the incompetency of the State government saying that many projects such as Sewerage Project, construction of market complexes at Moirang and Wangjing Tentha are stuck in controversies and uncertain of their actual completion.
Nilamani further lambasted the Congress Government in the State for its alleged indulgence in multi-crores scams pertaining to Loktak Clearance Project taken up by K-Pro Company and SSA clothing contract given to a Bangalore-based firm.
He also ruled out the possibility of a third front government at the Centre stating that the CPI has only four MPs while BJP has got four MPs even in a state like Assam.
