Chakpi residents decry change of PMGSY work site

Residents of Kana Area and Chakpi area have decried the relocation of road construction work from its original site (Salluk to Teijang village) to a new site (Hringkhu to Bollok village under Chakpikarong sub division in Chandel district.
Undisclosed source while informing to this correspondent about the shifting of the work implemented under PMGSY 9th Phase, which was confirmed after a spot enquiry by the villagers, strongly criticised and charged one special contractor Khupkhahou Kilong.
The source alleged that special contractor Khupkhahou Kilong is responsible for the problem.
The villagers urged the responsible authority to immediately halt the works.
They said that Salluk- Teijang road is more important than the new one because it connects most of the villagers which were remained cut off from the rest of state after the RCC Bridge was collapsed by the recent flood in Chakpikarong.
They appealed to the contractor to sincerely execute the work as proposed by the people.
