Imphal, April 16 2019:
INC candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, K James has urged for a proper analysis of the footages from the CCTVs installed in the polling booths at the hill districts for a free and fair election conduct.
Speaking to media persons at Sangaiprou today, James said that many complaints were lodged by INC agents stationed at the Polling Stations which were located in the hill districts mainly populated by Nagas.
The INC polling agents complaint that unidentified armed personnel were resorting to booth capture and rigging at the Polling Stations in Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel and Tengnoupal districts and the complaints were event forwarded to the DC concerned through mobile phone, he added.

Alleging that the report that the voter turn out had reached 90 percent at just around noon is clear indication/proof of booth capture and rigging, James strongly condemned such practices and added that he went to the RO Thoubal to file a complain in the evening of April 11 .
He then claimed that during the meeting, he had urged for analysis of the footages from the CCTVs installed in the Polling Stations.
However, it is quite shocking that the Polling Stations requested for a repoll were not included in the list of Polling Stations where a repoll has been scheduled, he lamented.
On the other hand, veteran politician O Joy alleged that the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election seems to have been ruined by some people with vested interests.
He also added that listening to complaints by one party while completely ignoring others, is a clear sign of favouritism and nepotism and asked on what ground the complaint raised by Congress was rejected while those raised by BJP are attended to swiftly.
It will be the right step for the ECI and the authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest and take up necessary actions in the interest of justice and a free and fair election, Joy added.
