All-party committee starts seeking expert views on ILP

Imphal, September 15 2014:
The committee of the all-political parties which was formed in connection with Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue held its third meeting at its office located inside Assembly complex here today with Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam in the chair.
During the meeting, which has been seen as an important development in the aftermath of the collective demand for implementation of ILP system in the State from many sections, expert views from Prof L Joykumar, Department of History, Manipur University and Prof W Nabakumar, Department of Anthropology, MU were taken.
In the next meeting of the committee which is scheduled on September 16, views from experts of High Court Bar Association will be sought.
Then in the subsequent meeting on September 17, experts from All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) will present their views on the issue.
The committee will also interact with various civil society organizations and seek their views regarding implementation of ILP system in the State which is the long standing demand of the people.
