Meeting held to save school

Lakhipur, June 15 2020:
Following the order passed by the Assam Government to shut down Khunaw High School of Cachar Lakhipur Khunaw after none of the students could clear the HSLC exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Examination, Assam (SEBA), a meeting was held by the Rural Development Committee (RDC) today to save the school.
The meeting resolved to submit a memorandum to the local MLA and also to the Chief Minister and to also apprise the SDO (civil) and DC Cachar on the matter.
It was expressed that in the past, the school had produced outstanding students and it is unfortunate that the school has been ordered to close down.
The meeting was also attended by Retd Principal Laitonjam Manidhon, Retd ACS Kangabam Santi Kumar, president RDS Oinam Birmani, social worker Mutum Reena, ZPC Kabrabam Anita and RDC gen secy Phougeisangbam Brajaraj.
