Stating that there are around 5000 NGOs in the State with many running under foreign funds, he appealed to all the NGOs to submit annual return and other necessary detailed reports to the Ministry in time which is mandatory.
There are many NGOs in the State which are functioning effectively but did not submit requisite reports to the Ministry due to lack of knowledge about the submission, he added.
Asserting that some NGOs who fail to adhere to laid-out guidelines have tarnished images of those NGOs, who are working honestly for betterment of the State; he called upon all who are associated with the NGOs in the State to strive for positive outputs without thinking much of funds.
Kh Chinglen, assistant general secretary of All Manipur NGOs Forum who was also present during the meet confided that out of the 291 NGOs asked by the Ministry to submit annual return and detailed reports included several well known schools.
He pointed out that funds are sanctioned to the schools for various purposes like giving concession to its students while stressing the need for strictly following laid-out norms by NGOs in the State to avoid any eventuality like black listing by the concerned Ministry.
