Surgical outreach camp held in Tamenglong

District Health Mission Society Tamenglong on Saturday concluded the 8th Surgical Outreach camp at the District Hospital, Tamenglong and conducted 13 major and 6 minor operations successfully.
Dr N Jitendra, Associate Professor, Surgeon JNIMS Imphal and his colleagues organised the mega surgical outreach camp from time to time in hill districts of Manipur.
In all 19 patients were operated on Saturday for cases related to cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, hydrocele, inguinal hernia, ceasarian section, uterine fibroid and rectal polyp.
Speaking to the Hueiyen Lanpao on the sidelines of the camp, Dr S Thoibahenba, Assistant Professor of Anaesthetist, JNIMS said that the camp was not enough for the public of Tamenglong.
The 8th Surgery Outreach Camp team comprised of Dr N Jitendra Association; Dr S Thoibahenba Singh; Dr Pritam, S/R Anaesthesiology JNIMs; Dr Ramthaipou S/R Surgery, JNIMs; Lucy SCRUB Nurse Advance Hospital Imphal; Athana SCRUB Nurse Shanti Clinic Imphal; N Sanayaima OT Technician; Rocky OT Technician and doctors from Tamenglong District Hospital Tamenglong.
Assistant Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church Tamenglong, Tasinang Panmei told Hueiyen Lanpao that the surgery outreach camp was helpful to the poor people living at this district.
The people should be grateful to the chief medical officers and doctors who are working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.
A relative of one patient, Thuijuanliu of New Salem said that the outreach camp was very helpful for the poor people.
Dr Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer CMO/ District Mission Director, Tamenglong expressed his sincere gratitude to the surgical team from JNIMS.
he district Hospital Management Committee under District Health Mission Society Tamenglong, DHMS (NHM) also thanked Dr O Ibomcha Sing, State Mission Director Manipur for his unstinted effort to upgrade the First Referral Unit, FRU District Hopital Tamenglong.
In the meantime, National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) under the aegis of National Health Mission (NHM) also organized free eye camp and conducted operations on 14 patient.
