Sajik Bn holds Healthy Baby Contest

Sajik Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Healthy Baby Competition at Assam Rifles ground, Sajik Tanpak in Chandel district, today.
The aim of the event was to educate the parents on proper immunisation of child, healthy food habits and family planning.
The competition was categorized into three age groups i.e.newborn to 6 months, 6 months to 12 months and one year to two years.
Over 50 participants from the surrounding villages underwent the basic medical checkup to include weight, height and oral hygiene.
The importance of timely immunisation was highlighted by the Unit Medical Staff and the parents were quizzed regarding awareness on common diseases, vaccination, oral hygiene and benefits from various food supplements.
Importance of balanced diet and vaccination for the young ones was also emphasised during the event.
The locals whole heartedly appreciated the effort of the Battalion while distribution of soft toys to all participants brought great cheer to the tiny tots.
The positive energy and bonhomie between the Sajik Battalion and locals has begun to bring new life to the valley who assured to support the Battalion in all their endeavours.
The positive ripples created by the synchronised efforts of Sajik Battalion and the population are now being felt far and away, which will finally yield development for the area and help in preventing any act of violence by insurgents in the Kana Valley.
