Kangpokpi, October 04 2022:
Thadou Students' Association (GHQ) has called upon the state government to ensure complete adherence to the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court delivered in connection with the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2016 on February 11, 2022.The students' body stated that as certain arrangements have been provisioned for the previously appointed candidates by the Supreme Court for reinstatement to their respective posts by virtue of their extraordinary circumstances, victimization and undue hardships, the provision should be implemented immediately, and the process of interview for the newly successful candidates carried out without any delay or disruption.
The Supreme Court judgment on February 11, 2022, stated, 'In the event, the candidates who were already appointed on the basis of results of the main examination conducted in September 2016, if successful in the re-conducted main examination in terms of this order, they would be given the continuity of service and consequential benefits upon being appointed against the posts concerned".
The Thadou students' apex body also expressed relief that the depressingly stalled state civil services selection process is finally back on track.
It also congratulated all those candidates who have cleared the MPSC-conducted Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2016 (re-conducted in 2022) and commended them for their resilience in tiding over difficult circumstances.
TSA continued, "We hope the MPSC shall henceforth be true to its duty and not destroy the lives and livelihoods of the youth of our state in such disastrous manner in the future".
Lauding the current government under the leadership of chief minister N Biren Singh for its commitment to fair and transparent recruitment process in the state, TSA said that the government's earnest legal actions at the Supreme Court brought a resolution to the MCSCCE 2016 episode.
