Imphal, July 04 2013:
Sadu Chiru Waterfall, one of the popular picnic spots located under Nambol Police Station within the jurisdiction of Sadar Hills, Senapati district, is in dire need of development to attract more visitors.
The road leading to this Waterfall is in a deplorable condition with large potholes right in the middle of the road.
Nevertheless, a large number of people visit this scenic spot everyday.
The visitors have drawn the attention of the authorities concerned to develop the road leading to this Waterfall so that it can be developed into a tourist spot to attract more visitors not only from the State, but also from outside the State.
The visitors also want the fees which are currently charged by local clubs at two different entry points to be reduced.

As of now, the rate of fee at the first entry point is Rs.50 for six-wheelers such as buses, Rs.30 for four-wheelers, Rs.20 for three-wheelers, Rs.10 for two-wheelers and Re.
1 per head for visitors.
While the rate of fee at the second entry point is Rs.40 for six-wheelers, Rs.30 for four-wheelers, Rs.20 for three-wheelers, Rs.10 for two-wheelers and Rs.5 per head for visitors.
About 50 buses, 100 light vehicles, 50 three-wheelers and 100 two-wheelers are coming to the spot on a daily basis.
The local clubs are earning about Rs.8000 daily from the fees collected from the two entry points.
However, the clubs are also not keeping the pavements leading to the Waterfall neat and clean.
They are mostly overgrown with grasses and bushes causing uneasy experience to visitors.
Moreover, there are no rest house and lavatory for the visitors.
There is also need for a market shed in the place.
Most visitors bring all necessary items and cook their food there, while some visitors bring readymade food items.
The visitors also want some kind of hotel in the place that can offer quality food to them.
They are of the view that Sadu Chiru Waterfall would draw thousands of visitors everyday, if the road and other necessary infrastructures are well developed.
