Minister Phungzathang assures improvement in health sector

Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing on Wednesday inaugurated a newly constructed building of Heinoukhongnembi Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC) at Naoriya Pakhanglakpa in Imphal West and dedicated to the people.
Speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function, Phungzathang said efforts are on to provide all the requirements including manpower and infrastructures for improving the health sector in Manipur.
He noted maintaining good health of the public is wealth of the State and hence the Government is not neglecting this sector.
The Minister called upon the people related with the health sector to do the needful to ensure development of this sector.
Cooperation, trust and confidence among all employees of the health sector can promote it, the Minister added.
MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C RK Anand, who presided over the function, pointed out that the earlier building of Heinoukhongnembi PHSC was dismantled by the Government for expansion of Tiddim road.
The Congress legislator further said all the health care centres in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa are functioning well and stressed on the need for proper functioning of other such health centres in other parts of the State as well.
He said the people have the right to access to health care system and suggested that the Government must impose a strict ban on medical doctors practicing at private clinics for personal benefit.
Up-Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, Imphal West, Th Sharatchandra, Director, Family Welfare, SMD (NRHM), Dr Ibocha and Additional Director, Medical Directorate, Dr K Lokendro also participated in the PHSC building opening ceremony organized by Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, as guests of honour.
Phungzathang later visited to inspect the PHSC at Mekola in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa and assured that the requirements of the PHSC will be provided soon.
