Ukhrul shows appreciation

Ukhrul, May 03 2020:
While expressing its gratitude Ukhrul police who are fighting COVID-19 in the frontline, a myriad of Civil Societies Organization, Churches and locals of Ukhrul town lent out available resources to share with the police on duty.
On Friday, Hunphun Shaiza Shang, a local clan organization of Ukhrul town served them hot tea along with a snack to all policemen who were in duty in the town.
On the other hand, the Kuki Baptist Convention also donated a substantial quantity of fresh vegetables collected by the Church members from interior villages to the Churachandpur police.
The fresh vegetables were received by SP Churachandpur Amrita Sinha.
A statement issued by the Church thanked all who are fighting the pandemic in the frontline for their service.
The vegetables and essential items were contributed by Church members, it said, adding that police personnel, healthcare workers and media persons are facing immense stress with long hours of duty to serve the public by risking their lives.
These heroes deserve our highest appreciation and support, it added.
The statement signed by Rev Dr M Thangkhosei Haokip also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other responsible leaders for their excellent leadership during this pandemic.
