Government is looking into Nagaland text book claim over Shiroy Lily: CM Ibobi

Manipur Government is looking into the matter regarding the controversial description of Shiroy Lily as a flower grown in Nagaland's "Shiroy Mountain," Chief Minister O Ibobi told the State Assembly on Wednesday.
During the question hour the Chief Minister while responding to LJP MLA Karam Shyam stated that his Government is looking into the issue over inclusion of the Manipur's State Flower in a Nagaland Board of School Education prescribed book "A Book of Nagaland" as a flower available in a mountain in that State.
The Government along with the Revenue, Horticulture and Education (S) Departments, and Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district is investigating the matter, he added.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said the construction of Manipur Bhavans in Guwahati and Kolkata are being undertaken by the PWD.
After completion of the construction works, these will be handed over to General Administrative Department, Tonsing said.
Conservation of Paddy land & Wetland Act was implementated since September 2014 and the State Government will take up various measures under the Act, Revenue, Fotest and Environment Minister Th Debendra said while replying to query by MLA Dr Ng Bijoy.
To a question raised by MLA Samuel Risom, Tribal Affairs Minister Gaikhangam said functioning of the Industrial Training Centre at Motbung had stopped from 2007-8 .
Building of the centre has worn away and that the period of all contractual basis teachers had ended long time back, Gaikhangam, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, added.
Several equipments were procured and installed at JNIMS before the official visit by a team from MCI to the hospital, Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said while replying to a question by MLA K Shyam.
The minister disclosed that Rs 28,88,63,926 was spent in purchasing the new equipments which was done through e-tender process.
Tonsing in his reply to another question by MLA Th Shyamkumar said there are currently seven district hospitals, 17 CHCs, 85 PHCs, 420 PHSCs running under the Health Department in the State.
Under the department three special grade doctors, 16 from Grade-I, 134 from Grade-II, 599 from Grade-III and 1,470 from Grade-IV (total 2,222) are presently working, he informed.
He said the department is still facing shortage of doctors.
The Government has set a target to finish the construction of Thoubal Multipurpose Project by March 2016, IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip informed while replying to a question by MLA Th Shyamkumar.
