AR aids orphanage home in Hnatham village

Imphal, July 30 2020:
The Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) provided ration and surgical masks to the children of the orphanage home in Hnatham village, Chandel on Jul 29, as part of its contribution in the fight against COVID-19, said a statement by IGAR (S) .
Simultaneously, 50 saplings of various types were also provided for plantation in and around area.
In order to contain the spread of the disease, masks were provided to the children as precautionary measures against COVID-19 .
In addition, Regimental Medical Officer (RMO) and medical team of the battalion interacted with the children and educated them on the various precautionary measures like regular hand washing, maintaining basic hygiene, sanitation, social distancing and other measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 .
The medical staff of the battalion also measured the temperature of the children and distributed medical supplies to them.
The orphanage home staffs and children expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles.
