Kangpokpi, July 26 2021:
The 'Joint Committee on affected lands of Mongneljang and Gwaltabi villagers by NH-202 expansion' has raised strong objection to the alleged surreptitious payment of undervalued compensation without consent and neglecting the grievances of the affected land owners.
While drawing attention of the state government, the Committee said that it is opposed to the surreptitious payment of undervalued compensation without knowledge of the affected people as the authority concerned initiated the process stealthily without following the principle of natural justice.
It recalled that a joint objection had been furnished to CM office, DC, NHIDCL director but they remained silent till date by acting in a biased manner.
It continued that the illegal act of surreptitiously paying the undervalued amount of compensation to silence the voice of the affected land owners is unacceptable while adding that the affected land owners cannot be exploited by the government when their grievances are not redressed.
While expecting a positive response and action, the joint committee beseeched the state CM's intervention and acknowledgment of their prayer while cautioning the authorities concerned against acting unlawfully and partially.
