Prosecution sanction against two MOBC officials granted

Imphal, February 26 2018:
Department of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) has claimed to have detected irregularities like change in account details of students, inclusion of names of persons in the list of students selected by outsourced agency, MOBEDS, double debit of payment of scholarship amount in the same account etc in the process of payment of Minority Pre-Matric scholarship in 5 th phase thereafter halting the payment/subsequent release of scholarships subjecting to rigorous re-verifications with Education Department.
The Department made a complaint to the police regarding the matter with requests to make enquiry.
Imphal police station registered an FIR case no 433(10) 2015 u/s 465/468/571/34 IPC r/w 420 IPC of Imphal PS and investigated the matter, said a press release issued by the Department.
After investigation, the police found out sufficient materials/evidences for trial of a case against the accused persons including two officials of MOBC namely L Mak Joute and K Poukhamlung and sought for grant of prosecution sanction.
The Administrative Department after minute consideration of the report of police, granted prosecution sanction u/s 197 CrPC for trial against the two Government officials of MOBC Department.
Trial will start in near future, the release said.
