Imphal, August 24 2011:
The Sagolband Ingudum Leikai Youth Association (SILYA) today sought clarification from MLA Loken of Sagolband A/C whether he was involved in the inconveniences caused to Ingudum Leikai Development Committee while distributing rice to the families of the locality.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, H Thambal, Advisor SILYA said that people of the locality have been facing many hardships due the ongoing blockade on the two NHs by SHDDC.
The committee was formed to bring some relief to the grief stricken people of the locality on August 15 and approached RK Imo to help the committee in distributing some essential commodities like rice, pulse and other food items.
As a result, RK Imo helped the committee and distributed 10 kg of rice each to 75 households of the localities on August 23 at Rs 9 per kg at SILYA club premises.
However, the committee came to the club premises to continue their service, they found the doors of the club locked and upon investigation, they found that General Secretary Thounaojam Mohindro locked the doors.
When asked he told them that the club was constructed by MLA Loken and they cannot continue their service in the club premises.
Reacting to the claim of the General Secretary, SILYA sought clarification from MLA Loken whether he was involved in the incident of locking the club.
They further told that the club will boycott the MLA if he was involved in the incident.
