Session Judge Imphal West today allowed application filed by two co-accused persons praying before the Court to discharge them from the trail case and allowed them to give their statements as prosecution witnesses in connection with the 2018 murder case of Thokchom Tony alias Jagat.
Th Tonny who was shot dead on the night of March 3, 2018 at the gate of his residence at Nagamapal Phugeisangbam Leikai.
On March 8, 2018 Imphal West district police had arrested four accused persons identified as Haobijam Dilip alias Taibanganba (48) of Keibul Lamjao (staying at that time at Bishnupur Mamang Awang Leikai Ward Number 11), Sandam Bojon alias Tomba (46) of Langol Lai Manai, Lamabam Basan alias Thoi (24) of Ngaikhong Khullen Maning Leikai and Wahengbam Sanathoi (22) of Ngachoupokpi Makha Leikai.
Two of the accused persons-W Sanathoi and Lamabam Basan alias Thoi on April 9 had filed an application along with a prayer for discharging both of them from the case and allowing them to give statements as prosecution witnesses in the case.
After the hearing of the application on April 17, the order was kept reserved till today.
Today, the Court allowed the application discharging both of them from the case on the condition that they will give evidence before the Court as prosecution witnesses.
