Mangminlal was arrested by Moreh police and Chandramohan by Imphal police station in two separate cases of outraging modesty of minor girls.
The court also directed Moreh police to keep Mangminlal either at temporary lock-up within the Moreh police station complex or at a Covid care centre of the district as he was found positive of COVID-19 infection when tested, and handed him over to SP Sajiwa jail when recovered.
Meanwhile, exerting pressure on the authorities concerned for looking into the case of kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl at Nagamapal on June 10 with the seriousness it deserves, Leihou Khunnai Kanba Luptin (LKKL) urged for giving stringent punishment to the culprits at the earliest.
In a release, LKKL mass media secretary Ksh Romesh stated that as the victim is an innocent minor girl, the perpetrators should be punished stringently under Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO Act.
The victim family should not compromise on anything and should stand for truth.
They should not try to hide on grounds that the victim is a girl.
The perpetrators should be taught a lesson so that such inhumane act does not recur, Romesh maintained, while adding that LKKL will extend all possible help in delivering justice to the victim.
He continued that the perpetrator (s) should be given severe punishment according to the law of the land and should not compromise on any grounds.
There should be no sympathy on the culprits and no judgment should be given with sympathy.
Lives of the people will be considered valueless objects if proper lesson is not taught to them, he added.
