MLA Joykisan inspects AC

Newly elected MLA of Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency Khumukcham Joykisan Singh today covered various localities of the assembly segment to assess existing condition of basic infrastructure.
Mandated by the electorates to ensure that there is no laxity towards overall development of the assembly constituency, the MLA accompanied by officials of State Public Works Department carried out the special inspection visit during which he discovered that some road development works were being executed without official sanctioned.
While asking the PWD officials for re-tendering of the said work, Joykisan cautioned contractor concerned that suitable action would be initiated in case work quality, as prescribed, is not maintained.
He also suggested repairing work of several drains found clogged with wastes or were damaged.

Speaking to some newspersons on the sideline of his inspection, the MLA conceded that roads and drains in Thangmeiband areas are in the worst possible condition when compared to even the remotest villages of the valley districts.
Asserting that development of basic infrastructure such as road and drinking water provision would be his priority, he said equal emphasis will be given in ensuring that Government schools in the assembly segment are adequately equipped with infrastructure as well as man-power.
Maintaining that regular checking of Government-run educational institutions within the assembly segment would be carried out, the MLA cautioned that teachers found derelicting duty would be pulled up for explanation and appropriate punitive action.
