The 100 KVA distribution transformer for Changangei Awang (a) burnt on July 6 and is being repaired in the MSPDCL workshop, conveyed a press release issued by the Manager, KSD-II, MSPDCL, Lamphel .
It pointed out that the repair work will be completed in a week's time most probably on July 20, Thursday, and appealed to the people to refrain from disturbing the repair work .
On the other hand, a press release issued by the Executive Director (Tech), MSPCL, stated that the power supply in Senapati, Kangpokpi and Sekmai area from the 132 KV Karong sub station have been disrupted due to snapping of conductor by lightning and the consequent damage of one tower of 132 KV Yurembam-Karong line at Keithelmanbi .
It also pointed out that the alternate 132 KV supply from Kohima-Karong line have also been kept under emergency shutdown by Nagaland Power Department due to heavy landslide at Viswema village between Kohima and Mao.
Restoration work on both fronts are going on in full swing and may take a few days and power will be restored at the earliest, it added.
