6 injured in attack

Imphal, March 16 2015:
At least six residents of Kangchup Chiru village under Sapermeina Police Station in Senapati district were reportedly injured in an attack by a group of people on Monday.
The incident took place around 7 am.
A group of women numbering about 50 from neighbouring village Kangchup Makhong arrived at Kangchup Chiru village and then a large number of men from the same village suddenly surrounded the former village.
Sources said, the mob started attacking the residents with clubs, injuring six of them.
The injured have been admitted to RIMS here, according to Kanchup Chiru Village Chief Khomokung Thanga.
He said the two neighbouring villages have a dispute over land in the area.
Representatives of NIPCO, AMUCO, NUpi Samaj, AMKIL, Tami Chingmi, AMSU alsong with a media team visited the village to take stock of the situation arising out of the purported land dispute.
