World Energy day observed

Institution of Engineers (India) Manipur State Centre organised World Energy Day at IEI seminar hall, Polytechnic Takyel today .
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Chairman of IEI, MSC, Kh Temba Singh stated that the aim of organising World Energy Day is to sensitise all the people regarding the use of different form of energy properly and to sustain and preserve them for prolonged future use .
The step for preserving energy can begin from home .
Domestic appliances like fan, TV, fridge should not be overused and wasted by keeping them on for long periods of time .
Giving importance to non-conventional form of energy, he stated that energy can be generated from solar energy through solar cells .
People should start to promote such type of energy source, he added.
Secretary of IEI, MSC, N Joykumar Singh and former JERC (Manipur and Mizoram), N Shyamsundar Singh were also present at the event as the presidium members.
