Chief Minister sows Rabi crop seeds at Chandam Loukon

Imphal, December 10 2018:
As part of 'Rabi Crop Campaign 2018', Chief MinisterN Biren Singh sowed mustard and pea seeds at Naharup Makha Pat Chandam Loukon, Imphal east today.
Visiting numerous fields of Chandam Loukon by foot, the Chief Minister personally talked with farmers and cultivators of that area and advised them to keep their fields green throughout the year for self sustainability.
During the 'Rabi Crop Campaign' launching programme, Biren said that the Government is working tirelessly to uplift the lives of the people and to bring positive changes in the State.
It is the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to double farmers' income by 2022 in the country.
Such initiative would definitely help in increasing the economy of Manipur, he added.
The CM also said that a machine for producing fish feed will be imported to Manipur and the necessary location for installing the machine is being finalised.
The programme was organised by Department of Agriculture and Manipur Farm Enterprises Private Limited.
MLA of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency Nahakpam Indrajit, Director (Agriculture), Ph Rajendro, officials of the Agriculture Department, farmers and women folks attended today's programme.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister himself launched the 'Rabi Campaign 2018' at Haotal Pangei, Imphal East on December 2 with an objective to help the farmers increase their productivity and ' achieving higher yield of various crops during Rabi season.
