Imphal, December 09 2018:
In line with 70th Human Rights Day 2018 on December 10, Manipur People's Democratic Fronf is paying tribute and remembering the victims of human rights violations, said a statement of MPDF today.
Stating that UN General Assembly had announced December 10 as Human Rights Day on December 10, 1948, MPDF in its statement issued by its secretary Sapam Samungou Singh said that the human rights violation continues to haunt to this day.
Saying that 'Armed Forces Special Powers Act and other black laws have been proving cover to serious human rights violation in Manipur', MPDF mentioned the Manorama killing, Rose of Ukhrul and others including the cases before the Supreme Court for alleged fake encounters.
The statement of the MPDF also shed light on the various crime against women and minorities in the State/country and called for collective efforts and mass sensitisation to curb all forms of crime against humanity.
