One fatality, 10 new cases reported

Active cases of Covid-19 in the state dropped below 100 on Wednesday as government bulletins reported 25 recoveries and 10 new positive cases.
The fresh cases were detected out of 1373 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 0.73 per cent against 1.36 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
Wednesday also recorded one death case, which took the total number of toll to 2116 .
The victim was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal East district.
Till date, the Virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 25 patients were discharged from home isolation (18), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (3).The active case came down to 96 out of which 44 (45.83 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 285 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 119 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,143 positive cases and 114 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 148 new positive cases and 4 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 96 and 3 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 10 fresh cases (4 male & 6 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (7) .
The positive cases are from Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,931 (general population - 1,31,917 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,719 (general population - 1,29,719 and CAPF personnel - 5000) and number of active cases is 96 (general population - 89 and CAPF personnel - 7) .
The recovery rate is 98.38 per cent.
A total of 252 D-type and 76 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 3720 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the number of vaccinated people to 15,18,966, including 11,57,159 who have received the second doses and 61,901 recipients of precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,656), Imphal East (30,399), Thoubal (10,132), Churachandpur (11,042), Kangpokpi (3125), Tamenglong (3469), Bishnupur (9817), Senapati (2482), Ukhrul (3263), Kakching (6877), Chandel (2705), Noney (1157), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,129 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,636 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,10,568 tests per million population against the national average of 5,52,619 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.55 per cent while cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.64 per cent.
