Govt sets March 15 target for Civil Sectt

Imphal, February 08 2018:
The Government aims to complete construction of the Civil Secretariat (Capitol Project) by March 15 to ensure that the building is inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his proposed visit to the State, Works Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh informed the House today.
Replying to a starred question raised by Opposition MLA K Ranjit Singh, the Minister explained that the main objective of the Government is to complete the construction and hand it over to the people.
Replying to another question raised by Tipaimukh MLA Dr Chaltonlien Amo, Biswajit said that no funds have been provided for construction of Jiri-Tipaimukh road from 48th Km to 99th Km point.

However, the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, which is the implementing agency is preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for submission to the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways for necessary action, he added.
He said that there is also a plan for improvement of the road on selected dilapidated portions from 4th km to 42nd km under the State Work Programme.
Construction process for Lamlong Bazar has not started yet because of the pending finalisation of National Highway widening plan of the Churachandpur- Imphal-Yaingangpokpi section, MAHUD Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar Singh told the House today.
The Minister was replying to a starred question raised by Okram Henry Singh.
The Minister also told the House that physical progress of construction work of Tombisana Market is 35 percent complete.
