5 MSCP MLAs encounter tribunal case

Five MLAs elected on the tickets of Manipur State Congress Party (MSC) today faced a tribunal case summoned by the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly after they merged with the Congress party.
The five MLAs summoned by Speaker Th.Lokeshore are Nemcha Kipgen of Kangpokpi assembly constituency, Karam Thamarjit of Keirao constituency, RK Imo of Sagolband, Janghemlung Panmei of Tamenglong constituency and P Brojen of Wangjing Tentha assembly constituency.
It may be recalled here that the information regarding the merger of the five MSCP MLAs including the party president Y.Mani was announced on April 3, 2014 .
Following which, the five MLAs supported the Congress Lok Sabha candidate during the 16th Lok Sabha elections, 2014.Following this development, the then vice president of MSCP, Adim Panmei had claimed as the party's president and submitted a petition to the Assembly Speaker for initiating disqualification process against the five MLAs.
As a result of which, a tribunal case was issued against the five MLAs by Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th.Lokeshore.
Following the summon served, the five MLAs were present before the Tribunal court today but upon pleas made by them, a three weeks duration was given to them and the next hearing of the case rescheduled for September 26 .
