32 HoDs resign

Endorsing the demand for either resignation or dismissal of Vice Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, 32 Heads of Departments of Manipur University have so far tendered resignation letters to the Registrar.
The HoDs submitted their resignation letters in support of the agitation of MUTA, MUSU and MUSA.
Meanwhile, MUTA held an emergency meeting today and resolved to urge the Prime Minister who is the university's Visitor, the Union HRD Minister who is also the Chief Rector of MU and the Chief Minister to institute a high level enquiry to probe into the alleged financial and administrative irregularities committed by Prof Pandey as VC of Manipur University.
The meeting further resolved to appeal to all hostel wardens not to resign at the moment in the interest of students.
MUTA members further agreed to contribute one's day salary to pay for hostel mess, informed a source.
