IGAR (S) greets on New Year

Major General Virendra Singh, VSM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and all Ranks of Assam Rifles extended warm greetings and goodwill to the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year 2018 .
IG Assam Rifles (South) conveyed its earnest message of peace, harmony, unity and understanding on this joyous occasion and wished that all the goodwill would bring us together, irrespective of caste, creed and faith.
To commemorate the New Year we all must take a resolution to weed out the inimical elements of the society and tread towards the path of unity, peace and prosperity.
May the lord almighty bless us all with joy and happiness and guide us in our endeavors towards building a strong and prosperous Nation, PRO IGAR (S) wished in a press release.
On the other hand, in continuation of its effort to bolster the bond with local populace in the remote areas of the State, 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a "New Year Cultural Programme" at Joupi today.
All the villages in the area of responsibility were invited at Joupi, Chandel district wherein they showcased their culture by traditional dance.
The large turnout of around 300 villagers, all charged with energy was indeed an achievement, it said.
A career counselling seminar was also organised where participating youth were apprised about multiple career options including selection in Army and Assam Rifles.
The event culminated with prize distribution to the winners and enthusiastic participants, it added.
