A double bench of the Guwahati, Imphal Bench today order to submit a progress report of the investigation into the FIR case separately registered with the Imphal police with regard to the killing of Ch Sanjit in alleged fake encounter by the police commandos on July 23 at Khwairamband Market within two week time.
The court also directed the respondent concerns of the case to submit affidavits to the court within two week time from the date of issued of the notification.
The hearing of the case filed by the mother of the deceased Sanjit was conducted in the court of the Justice, Maibam Binodkumar and Justice Ashok Potshangbam.
After hearing the arguments of the both the government and petitioner, the court gave the ruling.
City police station registered the FIR case on August 26 with regard to the killing of Ch Sanjit based on the complaint lodged by his mother, Ch Talatombi as directed by the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench on August 25 under FIR no.82(8)09under section 302/34 of IPC and 27 (3) Armed Amendment Act of the City Police Station.
Sub-inspector Kh Dilipkumar of the city police station will investigate into the case as investigation officer, the source said today.
The high court directed the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of City Police Station to register an FIR case on the killing of former underground, Ch Sanjit as per complaint lodged by the mother of slain Ch Sanjit, who alleged that her son was killed after arrest by the Manipur Police Commandos.
Mother of the slain youth Sanjit Ch Taratombi lodged a complaint with the OC of City PS on August 7 alleging that her son was killed by personnel of Manipur Police Commandos on July 23 after his arrest on BT Road in "fake encounter" based on the report with photograph published in newsmagazine, Tehelka August first week issue.
The registration of the case is above the earlier case under FIR no.75(7)09 of the City PS under section 302/326/307/506 IPC 17/20 (UA-B) Amendment act 25(1)-B Arms Act taken up by the police station in connection with the July 23 shooting incident.
