Jadonang's Anniversary as state function mulled

Speaker, I Hemochandra, speaking as the chief guest at the observation of the 80th Death Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang at GM Hall today, said that Haipou Jadonang was a courageous freedom fighter who fought against the British rule.
He stood for the cause of Manipur.
His ideology is a shining example of the generations to follow.
He further said that he will urge the Chief Minister to observe this day at the state level and also discuss on declaring this day as a state holiday.
Works Minister, K Ranjit said that we need to follow the foot steps of freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang if at all his dreams and aspirations are to be cherished.
He also mentioned about Rani Gaidinliu who was also a freedom fighter.
He said that a guest house will be built in her name for which money has been sanctioned and work is under progress.
He also appealed to the public to co operate.
As a part of the function people paid floral tributes to the photo of Haipou Jadonang as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The function presided by MLA, Dr Kh Loken, Chairman PDA.
President of Irabot Foundation Manipur, Th Iboyaima, president of AMUCO, KT Rehman, Dhanibir Laishram, MPCC secretary, Jotin Waikhom and president of TAKDO, Jaikishan were the presidium members.
Our Tamenglong correspondent, Daneil Kamei reports that the 80th Death Aniversary of Haipou Jadonang was held at Zeliangrong House, organized by ZU Tamenglong Zone.
K Panmei, DC, Tamenglong said that "We need to relay the famous and strongest man's story to young generations so that they can be adapted to bring about change in our society" .
The present society is full of jealousy and envy of those who are looking only to fill their pockets, K Panmei observed.
He said, by remembering the pioneer who sacrificed for the sake of his society, we should be able to say out what is wrong as wrong and what is right as right.
DM Nganthuanang, Ex President, ZU (AMN) graced the anniversary as resource person and narrated the social and political history of Haipou Jaduannang.
Rev N Palmei, former president, ZU (AMN) and Aniliu Gangmei, president, ZWU, Manipur also spoke on the occasion.
