CSOs Saikul relax ultimatum till Jan 3

The Kuki Inpi and CSOs Saikul have decided to relax the 48 hours ultimatum served to the State Government over the suspicious death of Thangtinmang Haokip and lengthened the ultimatum till January 3, next year.
The decision to relax the ultimatum came after a joint meeting of Kuki Inpi, CSOs Saikul, victim family and KSO-GHQ with IG Clay Khongsai and SP Imphal West, Themthing Ngasangva was held today at the office chamber of IG Clay Khongsai at Imphal.
According to Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai president, Seimang Lupho, the IG and SP Imphal West gave concrete assurances to investigate the death of Thangtinmang Haokip at the earliest and appealed for withdrawal of the ultimatum served to the State Government.
He continued that, considering the assurances and the hectic Christmas and New Year festive season, the organisations have unanimously resolved to relax the ultimatum.
The Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai and CSOs Saikul expressed suspicion of assault leading to the death of Thangtinmang Haokip from Saikul sub division, Kangpokpi district and warned to imposed a total bandh along NH-2, if the authority concerned and the State Government fail to solve the matter within 48 hours, from December 26 .
Thangtinmang Haokip was the joint secretary of Konghom Area Youth Development, He was found critically injured by some bullet riders along the road side at Khongampat crossing area and was taken to Shija hospital for treatment, where he was admitted to the ICU ward but later succumbed to his injuries at noon on Christmas day.
The body was deposited at the RIMS morgue since the family members, Kuki Inpi, and other CSOs, including KSO, refused to claim the body before the concerned authority and State Government solved the case.
Claiming that Thangtinmang Haokip might have been brutally assaulted and left in the area, Kuki Inpi and CSOs urge the authority concerned and State Government to investigate the matter sincerely and book the culprit if any, within January 3 .
It had warned intense agitation if the case is not solved within the stipulated time.
