Over two lakh people have so far visited the ongoing Sangai Festival.
The figure is likely to increase in the last two days of the festival, informed reliable sources.
However, the exact figures of international, domestic and local visitors to the festival venues were yet to be assessed.
On the eight day, a 20-minute interaction programme was held with IGP Zone-1, Clay Khongsai prior to another interaction programme with Manipuri film personalities at the venue of the Sangai Asian Film Festival.
During the interaction, Clay Khongsai stated that for the next edition of the Sangai Festivals, the police department will make efforts to cover bigger areas and also to streamline the security system for the smooth conduct of the festival besides facilitating visitors' needs.
He also promised to suggest the authorities on permitting the visitors to book just one ticket for visiting all the venues of the festival.
The IGP Zone-1 admitted that the department has received many suggestions including some on managing traffic control system.
Since the Asian Theatre Festival, Asian Film Festival and Sangai Shumang Leela Festival are included in the festival for the first time, visitors faced difficulties to attend all the programmes, he also informed.
