Imphal, August 27 2011:
The Manipur unit of Naga People's Front (NPF) has said that it will work towards holding of people's dialogue in Manipur among different communities to understand each other deeper.
Manipur unit chief of the party G Gaingam said understanding each other is very important in the context of Manipur so that peace will have its place in the state.
G Gaingam was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of Chandel branch NPF in Chandel district headquarters this morning.
He said besides working on the 'aims and objects' of the party, NPF will take up 'people's dialogue' among various communities in Manipur so that one community will understand another community's problems.
"Instead of opposing each other, one community will start supporting the other community once we come to understand each other," said G Gaingam.
He also said that land and its resources of the indigenous people are another concern of the NPF.
"We will protect the land and its resources of the indigenous people," asserted the NPF chief.
Solidarity messages from NPF units of Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul were read out during the programme.
Due to the ongoing bandh many delegates from outside Chandel could not attend the programme.
