Alleging that certain elements have been wilfully deducting money from the money deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiaries, particularly NREGS beneficiaries, the Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak has given helpline numbers and an e-mail address to put up their case with IPAK.
The helpline numbers are 9774944964, 7005469566 and 9366559877 and email at [email protected] a statement, IPAK alleged that certain pradhans, members of Zilla Parishad and MLAs have demanded that half the amount entered to the bank accounts of the cardholders during this time of COVID-19 pandemic be handed over to them.
Drawing the attention of the Chief Minister and authority concerned IPAK urged them to take up appropriate action against those who have been deducting money from the job cardholders.
The time has also come for the authority concerned to crack down on those who have been siphoning off money meant for the welfare of the weaker sections of society to line their pockets with black money and turn the same into white by buying landed properties and pumping in money in the non-banking financial companies, alleged IPAK.
The association also lauded the gesture of the hill people in extending their helping hands to the valley people in times of need during the current lockdown and urged the authority concerned to crackdown on the black marketing cartel which have been creating scarcity to hike up the prices of all essential goods.
