Shops running out of goods

Imphal, March 27 2020:
Following the limited relaxation of curfew period by the Government, people of Lamlai AC, Imphal East came out of their homes in large numbers and lined up to buy groceries and daily essentials at Yaingangpokpi Bazaar, early in the morning today.
As soon as the shops' shutters were pulled up, people thronged to buy commodities even though the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic looms large.
However, each person was not allowed to buy more than 10 kg of rice, 1kg of dal and � kg of potatoes.
Notably, the shops in the areas are running out of the essential items like rice, dal, salt etc.
Meanwhile, to avoid any unwanted incidents, officials and a team of Yaingangpokpi PS were deployed in the area till the shops closed.
On the other hand, the shops began to close early even though there was some time left regarding the Government's relaxation of the curfew.
The shopkeepers expressed that if they are not able to import any more essential items or goods then there will be no more stock to sell next week.
