'Sangeet Darshan' released

The Ashangba Communication's latest book on Sitar entitled Sangeet Darshan second edition by Late Guru Laimujam Mangi edited by B Jayentakumar Sharma was released Laishram Birendrakumar, reknown musicologist this evening.
The book was released to the public in a solemn function held at the Lamyanba Sanglem, Palace compound.
Prof NTombi Singh President of the Manipur Sahitya Parishad presided over release the function.
Floral tribute to the portrait of late Guru Mangi and presentation of special music number was the main highlights of the function.
Special music presentation was led by Thokchom Prashna disciple of late Guru Mangi and supported by local talented musicians.
Those support Prashna at at the music presentation included S Mahanta Sharma on Meitei Pung, A Laxmirani on Sitar, L Nelson of Sitar, M Cherish on Violin, L Milanjit on Violin, Elangbam Herochand on tabla, Hidangmayum Lalhari Sharma on flute, K Bomba on hollow guitar.
The team presented a number based on Charu Keshi on tala rudra eleven beat.
Settled at United States since 1993 Prashna established Siat school Sitarland music at New York and teached Sitar to a number of students in US.
Presently staying at Florida Prashana had performed in many important concerts in many parts of US.
Before shifting to United States Prashna served as junior lecturer at the Government Music College for ten years.
