CCpur, March 26 2019:
Close on the heels of one ADC member from Churachandpur quitting the BJP on grounds of favouritism, seven more members yesterday quit the party on the same ground.
Langkhanpau Guite (Tuivai), Zamneiching (Muallum), M Gouzamang (New Lamka East), T Khaikhomang (Lanva), Hausuanthang (Singngat), G Suanchinpau (Lungthul) and Pumtulthang (Sangaikot) jointly submitted their resignation before the BJP district mandal president.
They cited three reasons for resigning.
Discrimination in fund allocation, biased treatment by the party in election of the Chairman ADC, and repeated denial of an appointment by the Chief Minister when majority members of the ADC sought to meet him are the three basis cited by the members that triggered their extreme step.
Though the members have, in group, tendered their resignation they refused to divulge any further details on their next move saying 'we will let you know when we have a final decision'.
They nevertheless confided of having received invitation from some other parties.
It may be noted that another member CT Lian on March 1 tendered his resignation from the party.
