Bicentenary Celebration of St John Bosco

A three-day (July 17 to July 19) celebration marking the Bicentenary of St.
John Bosco was held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram.
All the Salesians of Don Bosco or members of SDB congregation in the Manipur Region participated in the celebration which was concluded on Sunday.
The function was graced by Rev Fr Nestor Guria, Provincial, Dimapur in the presence of Rev Dr Fr KO Sebastian, Principal, Don Bosco College, Maram and Fr KC James Kamei, Principal, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram including Principals of six Salesian Institutes.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Francis Ngajokpa, RD/PR, Eco & Statistics Government of Manipur as a Chief Guest stated that he rather speak the truth than lie stating that Nagas are very talented but their talents are being misused and feels satisfied with little achievement due to short vision.

Further adding that types of educations are best in Salesians institutes in spite of poor establishment.
Reflecting on the biography of Don Bosco, he states that students of Don Bosco institute must shine and advise the students to eliminate pride and increase patient.
To stay focus on their abilities with positive attitudes and focus their goal towards success with sincerity.
The programmes of the celebration includes competitions of choir, speech, cultural dance, quiz, choreography, skit and thematic dance along with prize distribution for the winners.
