Tamenglong, January 21 2021:
The Tousem Area Students Organisation (TASO), in a statement issued yesterday, informed that the Government of Manipur has been giving excuses towards Tousem denizens in the name of miserable road, mobile network connectivity, infrastructure, etc for more than 2 decades.
TASO submitted a 7 point memorandum to Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, on July 10, 2017, which included the shifting of Tousem SDO camp office from Tamenglong district HQ to Tousem Sub Divisional HQ .
The student organisation started the agitation after serving the ultimatum to the State Government in December 2017, it added.
Responding to the ultimatum, the district administration team led by ADM Tamenglong district agreed to settle all the entitled offices to its headquarters.
However, citing the problems of road and network connectivity, the agreement was not fulfilled, it added.
The Tousem Area Students Organisation (TASO) appealed to the authority concerned to look into the matter and address the demands of the organisation at the earliest to prevent further agitation.
